Minors

The Local Government minor is administered through the Glenn College of Public Affairs. It has three goals, which provide an interdisciplinary set of knowledge and skills. Upon successful completion of this minor, students will be able to: 

  1. Understand financing of public services by state and local governments, including the fiscal relationships among local, state, and federal governments.
  2. Identify local government problems and apply analytical tools to address these problems.
  3. Understand the basic legal framework, common structures, and functions of local governments.
