How to apply

Each year, the College of Arts and Sciences at Ohio State seeks students who are not only successful in the classroom, but willing to lead; who see strength in diversity of people and ideas; who seek collaboration when solving problems; and who make use of all opportunities to figure out what kind of impact they want to have in the world.

Here’s everything you need to know about applying to Ohio State, from understanding the acceptance process, to applying step-by-step, to what happens after you apply and are accepted.

Financial aid opportunities

Each year, the College of Arts and Sciences awards approximately $1 million dollars in scholarships to undergraduate students who are pursuing a major in the arts and sciences and are currently enrolled on the Columbus campus. These scholarship opportunities are competitive, and include merit and need-based scholarships, scholarships that support research and creative activity, and scholarships that support global education.

FAFSA is also available starting October 1 of each year. Filing by Ohio State’s priority date of February 1 will provide you with maximum aid consideration for scholarships, grants, loans and Federal Work-Study.

Application information for the performing arts

Students interested in pursuing a major within the Department of Dance and/or School of Music will need to audition for their intended program in addition to submitting a written application. Students are encouraged to prepare and submit both applications, though the two decisions operate on independent timelines that coordinate efforts.
