Political Science and Economics
Studying political science and economics has been a wonderful experience. In my first two weeks as a freshman, I was awestruck by the sheer size of the campus and all the people I saw everywhere I went. Now, through the people I have met and the friends I’ve made, this campus has become much smaller and feels more like home. In one walk across campus, I rub shoulders with so many people I know, and it’s a constant reminder that being here means being a part of a vibrant and thriving community of special people. I will miss the tight-knit community the most after I graduate, though I know I am well-equipped to find more in the future because of my time here.
The opportunities I had were bountiful; I could explore my fields of study in greater depth than I had imagined. Through research, work experience and application of real-world events to my courses, I am very grateful for the world that Ohio State opened me up to. I have grown personally and professionally with these experiences and am well-equipped to further specialize in international affairs in my upcoming master’s program at Columbia. For anyone who is considering the College of Arts and Sciences for any major, the resources at your fingertips are more than enough to get a great head start on whatever it is that you choose to pursue in the future.

Earth Sciences
As I stand on the threshold of graduation, reflecting on my journey through the School of Earth Sciences (SES), I am filled with gratitude and a profound sense of accomplishment. As a student, I was immersed in a wide variety of knowledge and guided by passionate professors who instilled a deep appreciation for the Earth and its complex systems in me. From the intricacies of geology to the dynamics of environmental science, each course challenged me to think critically, analyze data and seek solutions to real-world problems.
One of the most rewarding experiences of my college career was founding and leading the Geology Club, inspired by a love for geology and driven by a desire to foster a community for Earth science enthusiasts. Through dedication and perseverance, the club became a welcoming space for students to engage in discussions, attend monthly field trips and partake in hands-on activities related to geology. Watching the club substantially grow and thrive under my leadership was incredibly fulfilling! It reinforced my belief in the power of collaboration and being able to accomplish anything you put your mind to.
Beyond academics, the SES provided invaluable opportunities for research, networking and lifelong friendships, all while laying the foundation for my future endeavors. I am eager to apply what I’ve learned to make a positive impact on the world and continue my journey at Florida Atlantic University to study marine biology.
