How are America's newest museums successfully raising "divisive concepts" in an era of toxic polarization? By centering diverse voices and celebrating a future healed by truth rather than angry alienation.
Elizabeth Weiser will explore this topic in her presentation, "Breaking the Taboo of Silence without Breaking the Nation." Weiser is a professor in the Ohio State Department of English. She is the author of multiple works on rhetorical theory and museums. Her current research focuses on restorative rhetorics in museums of conscience across the U.S.
The event will be hybrid and held both in person in Hopewell Hall Room 53 on the Newark campus and virtually via Zoom. If you plan to attend virtually, you can register for the talk at go.osu.edu/museums. All are welcome to attend.
