In its sixth year, the Ohio State Shakespeare and Autism/Bridgeway Academy Internship provides an immersive pre-professional course-credit internship for one exceptional undergraduate student. We invite you to celebrate the teaching artistry of our 2023 intern, Garrett Mahoney. Garrett has spent the Spring semester collaborating with professional mentors at Bridgeway Academy in Columbus to help improve the lives of children on the autism spectrum through a variety of interventions and the creation of two new plays.

Garrett Mahoney is a senior at The Ohio State University, majoring in art with a focus on drawing and painting. Before coming to Ohio State, Garrett worked as a gymnastics coach while also serving in the Army National Guard as a chemical specialist and later, a chaplain's assistant. Garrett has had an affinity for music ever since completing a worship internship at his local church, and he now plays in a band in his free time. He was able to use his love for music and theatre to assist Bridgeway Academy this year through the Shakespeare and Autism Project after taking the course with Kevin McClatchy.
