Symphonic Band: "Beginnings"
Join the musicians of Symphonic Band for a program of beginnings. The program features two premieres, one composed by Professor Emeritus of Bassoon Christopher Weait entitled “Three Pathways for Band,” as well as a four-movement symphony by composer Brian Balmages entitled “Windows and Mirrors: A Symphony for Band.” The performance appropriately starts with “Beginnings” from Rise by Adam Schoenberg, and closes by paying tribute to our own School of Music, whose beginning at a university department was exactly 100 years ago this spring.Details
