Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (EHE)

Minors

The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) minor, administered in the College of Education and Human Ecology, is intended for students enrolled in any major who would like to learn more about teaching English as an additional language. (TESOL-MN)

Additionally, as part of the TESOL minor, students will gain:

  • Knowledge of the theories underlying the teaching of English as an additional language
  • Knowledge base about language use for teaching English as an additional language
  • Knowledge of principles and practices for teaching English as an additional language
  • Knowledge of instructional design, materials development, and assessment for English as an additional language
