Center for Career and Professional Success names new director
Scott Kustis has been named director of the Center for Career and Professional Success in the College of Arts and Sciences after serving in the role on an interim basis.
Kustis first joined the Center for Career and Professional Success in 2005, serving as a career prep advisor and later as an assistant director. In these roles, he advised students on enhancing their resumes and professional skills and coordinated the annual Ohio State Spring Career Fair.
In 2018, Kustis was named the center’s Director of Industry Connections, forging relationships with businesses and connecting students with alumni through the Match Mentor program, opening the door to professional experiences, internships and job opportunities after graduation.
“During my 20-plus years with the College of Arts and Sciences, I have seen Career Success develop into a dynamic resource for student growth and development,” Kustis said. “I believe in the lifelong value of an Arts and Sciences education and am excited to continue the mission of this office.”
The Center for Career and Professional Success supports students throughout their academic and career journeys, offering career coaching, career fairs, interview preparation and assistance with cover letters and resumes, as well as alumni services.
“I’m excited that Scott Kustis will be stepping in and leading the Center for Career and Professional Success,” said Andrew Martin, associate dean for undergraduate education. “Scott brings a wealth of experience to this role. He has built strong relationships with both partners at the university and in the community to ensure that Arts and Sciences students are supported in their career aspirations while they are at Ohio State and after they leave.”
