A Message from Dean Horn

Dear Friends,
We are deeply thankful for your generous support of the College of Arts and Sciences during Ohio State’s Time and Change Campaign. Your contributions help our college to realize the promise of the liberal arts at a twenty-first-century land grant university — setting us apart from our peers, and elevating our role in national conversations about public higher education.
In its current form since 2010, the College of Arts and Sciences has been the academic heart of the university. Our faculty undertake fundamental research that helps solve local and global problems, creative work that challenges us to think and behave differently, and curricular programs that prepare students to be lifelong learners and global citizens. We teach nearly every Ohio State undergraduate, and our top-ranked graduate programs significantly enhance the university's reputation.
We serve Ohio’s urban and rural communities through engagement with partners across the state, and are meeting the needs of tomorrow’s workforce: training students to think creatively and critically, to communicate effectively, to navigate boundaries of language and culture, and to succeed at jobs we cannot yet imagine.
With an international reach, we teach over 30 world languages and offer dozens of global education programs led by our own faculty. Our inclusive community also brings the world to Ohio, and we are strengthened by the different experiences students and faculty bring to the classroom, the laboratory, and the studio.
Your support during Time and Change has helped us to recruit stellar faculty — perhaps our next Nobel Prize winner! — to extend our engagement work, and to ensure every student can have extraordinary experiences. Thanks to you, our college will thrive in the years ahead.
We are deeply grateful for your investment and partnership in our work.
Warmly,

David Horn
