New American civic literacy requirement takes effect for autumn 2026 students
Students entering Ohio's public universities in Autumn 2026 or later are required by Ohio law to complete at least one 3-credit course in American civic literacy. The College of Arts and Sciences offers a variety of courses that fulfill this requirement, giving you the flexibility to choose a class that matches your interests while staying on track for graduation. Whether you're interested in history, politics, literature, philosophy, or the foundations of American democracy, there's a course for you.
