In the 2025 U.S. News & World Report rankings,  audiology was ranked 9 overall and 7 among public institutions. Political Science and sociology both ranked 18th, while speech-language pathology placed at 21. History was ranked 22, followed by English at 26. Psychology earned a national ranking of 30 and was 14th among public institutions. Economics was also recognized, ranking 37th.

For Best Global Universities in Arts and Humanities, Ohio State’s Arts and Humanities programs rank 8th among U.S. public universities, 18th among all U.S. universities, and 45th globally.  In the 2024 Shanghai Global Ranking of Social Sciences, several programs earned strong international recognition. Sociology was ranked 4 globally, while communication placed  7th and Psychology at 15. Political Science was ranked at 24, and Geography at 34. Economics was also recognized, ranking within the 51–75 range worldwide.
