Wegener appointed chair of Department of Psychology

Duane Wegener

Duane Wegener, a College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor of Psychology, has been appointed chair of the Department of Psychology for a four-year term, effective July 1, 2022. Wegener’s research examines attitudes, persuasion, decision making, and behavior change. He has active collaborations with faculty in the College of Nursing (related to lifestyle behavior change), the College of Engineering (related to cybersecurity), and the School of Communication (related to misinformation). He has been a faculty member at Ohio State since 2010 after being an Assistant Professor at Yale University and Associate and Full Professor at Purdue University. He earned his MA (1991) and PhD (1994) in social psychology from Ohio State.
